The fledgling Jewish Community Bet El began in 1991 with the aim of offering non-Orthodox cultural and religious services to Jews in Madrid. Shabbat services were held each week in congregants’ homes. Our religious services are traditional with one key characteristic: women’s roles are the same as men’s.
All activities are conducted in an open and pluralistic framework. Hebrew is the liturgical language of the majority of prayers, with translation and phonetics available so all can follow the service.
We hope this project will allow us to offer more complete services for our congregants.
